Objective: to study physical fitness features of 4th grade schoolchildren with different education programs (cadet, university preparatory, comprehensive classes). Materials and methods: research on 4th grade schoolchildren with different education programs involved physical fitness parameters (standing long jump, ball throwing, 30 meter race, abdominal crunches) and was conducted on the basis of Chelyabinsk school № 45. Findings: analysis of physical fitness parameters shows that, in comparison with children from comprehensive class (4A) children from cadet class (4K) have significantly better values of two parameters (30 meter race (p < 0.01), abdominal crunches (p < 0.05)); comparison of physical fitness parameters of children from 4th cadet and 4th preparatory (4G) classes also shows that pupils from 4K have significantly better results in three of four tests (ball throwing (p < 0.05), 30 meter race (p < 0.01), abdominal crunches (p < 0.05)). All the considered physical fitness tests showed no significant differences between girls from 4G and 4A classes. In all the considered physical fitness tests boys had significantly higher results than girls (4K, 4A classes). Conclusion: evaluating physical fitness parameters we can see that children from cadet class excel, or are equal to, students of comprehensive and preparatory classes in a few tests. High parameter values shown by children from cadet class in 30 meter race, standing long jump and ball throwing tests can be probably attributed to higher level of physical activity that is connected with raised requirements for cadet physical training. Besides, except PE lessons most cadets attend extra sport classes in accordance with sporting specialization. At the same time, low physical levels shown by children from comprehensive and preparatory classes are probably induced by higher study loads and therefore less motor activity range.
