Objective: to study mechanisms of fatigue. Material and methods: we studied working capacity of men divided into four age groups from 19 to 90. Experimental subjects performed dynamic and isometric work on finger ergograph till fatigue developed (subjects refused to continue working). Findings: experiment shows that each age period is characterized with its specific combination of strength, endurance and scope of work. The highest parameter values of strength, dynamic work endurance and momentum at isometric exercises were revealed in young males; the highest parameter value of static endurance was revealed in elderly men. Conclusion: experiment proves that working capacity in adequate conditions of local load is preserved in men over 60 years old.
